What does “sealed” actually mean?
When the report is finished, the app calculates a fingerprint across everything in it (every photo's bytes, every note, every meter reading) and stores that single value with the report. Change anything afterwards, even one pixel in one photo, and the fingerprint no longer matches. That is what makes tampering visible instead of arguable.
What is a timestamp, and what is eIDAS?
eIDAS is the EU regulation (No 910/2014) that governs electronic signatures, seals and timestamps across every member state. A qualified timestamp under it is issued by a supervised trust service provider listed on the EU Trusted List, and certifies that a specific piece of data existed in exactly that form at a specific moment. BildProof has your report's fingerprint stamped that way, by DGN Deutsches Gesundheitsnetz Service GmbH.
Who issues the timestamp?
DGN Deutsches Gesundheitsnetz Service GmbH, a qualified German trust service provider supervised by the Bundesnetzagentur.
What does the timestamp actually prove if it comes to a dispute?
That your report existed in exactly this form no later than the stamped moment, and that nothing has changed since. Under Article 41 eIDAS a qualified timestamp carries a legal presumption that the time is accurate and the data unaltered, so the other side has to prove otherwise, rather than you having to prove yourself.
What if I need the move-out later?
Then choose the move-in + move-out package for €14.99 at move-in: move-in now, move-out when you leave, already paid for. All photos stay stored for 3 years.
I'm already at move-out, does that work?
Yes. Move-in and move-out are separate records, so you can scan at move-out on its own. The move-out report costs €9.99 and shows the condition of the flat on the day you hand it back. That is solid proof to protect your Kaution if a dispute comes up later.
Where are my photos stored, and for how long?
Encrypted, on servers in Germany, included in the price. Your photos are stored for 3 years. The move-out report you already paid for at move-in stays ready for just as long. You can download the whole report and all photos at any time, and the timestamp stays verifiable independently even if you stop using BildProof.
Do I need special hardware?
No. Any recent phone with a camera runs the guided scan.
